Tourism and Travel Management

Delhi Institute of Tourism and Travel Management was established by Delhi Tourism The Institute was established for manpower development and research work in tourism and travel industry, though the need for tourism trained graduates had been realized in our country a long time ago.


DITTM keeps a close vigil on the ongoing academic pursuits and activities being undertaken by the public and private bodies at the national and regional levels and has been organizing time to time training and enrichment courses for tourism teachers as well as seminars and workshops with a view to improve the quality and content of the syllabi of tourism courses in the country.




DITTM provides academic opportunities to graduates and undergraduates directly and in collaboration with the leading institute and universities for successful career in holiday and leisure management, covering travel industry, tour operation, transportation, accommodation and interpretation services. Its objectives are to serve for total professionalisation of human resources engaged in the business of tourism through diplomas in tourism after graduation, specially designed practical training and field visit, foreign languages training programs , short term management Development Programs, Executive Development Programs for retired defence service personnel, workshops, seminars and conferences, Tourism Orientation talk at school and college levels and Tourism Promotion Competition among young generation.



The major academic program of DITTM (Delhi Chapter) is one year part-time Post Graduation Diploma in Travel and Tourism Industry Management. Graduates in any discipline are eligible for admission to the Diploma Course.


The Diploma is consisting 14 modules :-

  • Tourism Concept and Impact
  • Travel Agency, Tour Operation and Transport
  • Accounting and Finance for Management
  • Tourism and Products of India and Geography of Tourism.
  • Management Concepts and Organizational Behavior.
  • Computation and Information System.
  • Tourism Policy, Planning and Development
  • Business Communication and Personality Development.
  • Tourism Marketing and Sales Management.
  • Information System and CRS.
  • Basic Air Fares and Ticketing.
  • Hospitality and Resort Management.

The Diploma is consisting 14 modules :-

  • Tour Package Operations Management and Event Management
  • Project Report
  • Institute offers several Short Term Courses. They are as follows :-
  • 1. Basic Course on Air Travel, Fares and Ticketing.
  • 2. Basic Course on Computerized Reservation System (Amadeus)
  • 3. Basic Course on Airlines, Travel Agency and Tour Operation Management
  • 4. Basic Course on Computer Application and Internet Basics
  • 5. Japanese Language Training Course
  • 6. French Language Training Course
  • 7. German Language Training Course
